GMC Sierra

The Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the biggest and baddest body-on-frame SUVs still sold today. With that platform, you get access to incredible engines, tons of luxurious interior space, and the full capability that comes from its truck-based roots. That all combines to make the Chevrolet Tahoe a great choice for everyone. From taking a family four on a weekend camping trip, to building a rolling home capable of surviving for weeks in the wilderness, the Tahoe is a blank canvas on which you can build your adventuring dreams.

Let’s start that build by picking out your sleeping accommodations, by choosing the best Roofnest rooftop tent to fit on top of your Chevy Tahoe.

Condor 2 XL

If you want a tent fit for a king, then look no further than the new Condor 2 XL with its queen-size mattress sleeping area. The supersized version of our newly revamped Condor 2 comes with all the great new features of our 2023 family of tents.

That means you get our new blackout tent material, an upgraded shell with aluminum reinforcements and Line-X coating, you get a pair of integrated HVAC ports, multiple LED light strips, and of course support for mounting crossbars on top of the tent for even more storage.

Other improvements to the Condor 2 XL include an integrated duffle on the interior of the tent for storing bedding when the tent is closed, redesigned three-way windows, and six pocket gear grid to help keep all your stuff organized.

Despite this unmatched level of quality, convenience, and features, Roofnest has managed to create a tent that is just 75 inches long and 56 inches wide when it is closed, and with a weight of just 180 pounds.

Condor Overland 2 XL

If you plan on taking your Tahoe through some seriously rough country, or you just need even more storage options, maybe check out the Overland version of our Condor 2 XL. From an interior and features perspective it is functionally identical to the Condor 2 XL with the exception of the shell.

Instead of the aluminum reinforced ABS shell, the Overland models get a full aluminum shell. While that brings certain inherent benefits to durability and crush resistance, it also comes with added storage capability. Roofnest has taken the extra tensile provided by the aluminum shell and used it to add a series of accessory rails into the walls of the shell. Each bolt inserted into the rail is capable of holding 60 pounds, dramatically opening up your options for mounting equipment.

With something like a Tahoe, you might be filling the entire cabin with people, and you don’t have a lot of usable exterior storage. By opting for the Roofnest Conder Overland 2 XL, you now have several feet or accessory rails to add water jugs, shovels, axes, and all manner of extra camping equipment.

Sparrow 2 XL

If you are looking to maximize the sights and sounds of your campsite, you need to mount a Sparrow 2 XL on top of your Chevy Tahoe. The most modern interpretation of our original Roofnest design, the Sparrow XL uses a pop-up design for lighting fast setup and unrivaled outward visibility.

All four walls of the Sparrow 2 XL feature massive windows, giving you full 360-degree sightlines of your campsite. Leave the nets up to keep the bugs out, or open them fully to enjoy a true open-air camping experience.

Because the Sparrow 2 XL is a newly upgraded model, it comes with all the benefits found on the Condor 2 line. That also means that those huge windows don’t have to ruin your sleep. If the sun is rising earlier than you want to, our upgraded blackout tent material will keep things dark and cozy for you until you decide to let the light in.

The Sparrow 2 XL is also perfect for those tall campers. While it may not feature a queen-size sleeping area like the Condor 2 XL, the Sparrow 2’s longer overall design means there is a full seven feet of sleeping space available to you. So feel free to stretch out.

Falcon 2 XL

The Condor 2 XL is packed with features, the Condor 2 Overland XL brings extra storage and sturdier construction, and the Sparrow 2 XL is lightning fast to set up. But if you want a tent that combines all these great features into a single tent, check out the Falcon 2 XL.

You get durable blackout tent material, you get an aluminum shell with integrated accessory rails, you also get crossbar support, just like the other three tents here. But what you also get is an extra two inches of sleeping length so even Shaq himself could sleep in this bad boy, and the hinged clamshell design means it is faster to set up than even the Sparrow. Just undo the latches on the sides, give the lid a push, and the integrated gas struts will lift and open the tent for you. If you were in a hurry, you could have the Falcon 2 XL open and ready to go in less than 60 seconds.

The Falcon 2 XL has a few extra tricks up its sleeve still. With a closed height of just 6.5 inches, it is the lowest profile tent we’ve talked about today, and with a weight of just 175 pounds, it’s almost the lightest. The Falcon 2 XL shell is also fully insulated, so even if you are camping in cooler weather, you should stay nice and warm.

No matter what kind of camping you want to do, or what kind of rooftop tent you are looking for, there is a Roofnest tent that is perfect for your Chevy Tahoe.
