Field Test: Condor Overland 2 Air

When a seasoned Overlander takes a closer look at the Condor Overland 2 Air, does it hold up to the scrutiny of an experience pro?

When it comes to dialing in an overland rig, every inch of roof space and every pound of payload matters. That's why experienced outdoor content creator and overlander, Mojo, recently made the switch to the Condor Overland 2 Air, putting our aluminum hardshell rooftop tent through its paces on his built-out Jeep. Having spent the last year and a half running a Roofnest Condor 2 XL, Mojo is no stranger to the comfort and convenience of sleeping above the ground. But with a more compact footprint, the Condor 2 Overland offered an opportunity to rethink his setup, while also adding a Roofnest 270-degree Big Wing without significantly changing the weight on his roof rack.

Built for adventure beyond the pavement, the Condor Overland 2 Air packs plenty of capability into its compact aluminum shell. Mojo gives his feedback on the tent's installation, integrated T-slot channels, heavy-duty hardware, and clamshell deployment before climbing inside to enjoy the blackout canvas, integrated lighting, and comfortable sleeping space. One feature that particularly stood out to him is the tent's ability to preserve access to all four Jeep doors. As Mojo explains, "One of the things I love about these clamshell style tents is that they're the only tents that I've found that you can get in to all four of your doors." For an overland build where rear cargo access, camp kitchen functionality, and exterior storage all play a role, he found that to be a serious advantage.

Of course, a rooftop tent isn't just about specs and mounting configurations. It's about what happens once you've found your campsite and settled in for the night. With his 270-degree Big Wing deployed, camp lighting powered up, and dinner on the grill, Mojo shows how the Condor Overland 2 Air fits into his established camping routine. After a comfortable night with the windows open and a cross-breeze flowing through the tent, he give us the thumbs up. "There's a lot of features in these tents. They do make setting up a nice comfortable camp way easier."

With years of camping experience and firsthand time in multiple roof top tents, Mojo brings a practical perspective to his gear reviews. We are honored to get his seal of approval and his unfiltered feedback on our tents. Thanks Mojo... and Cosmo... see you out on the trail.
