ASA/ABS plastic Shell

The Condor’s shell is made from ABS plastic with an outside layer of ASA plastic for weather resistance.

Wall Material

The Condor’s wall material is a polyurethane-coated polyester and cotton blend with a waterproof rating of 3000mm (for comparison, a typical waterproof rating on a backpacking tent is 1000mm). The fabric is much thicker and tougher than a typical backpacking tent — more like a heavy-duty wall tent. The material provides additional warmth and is quieter in the wind due to its weight.

Doors and Windows

The Condor has 2 windows with canvas and mesh zip closures. The Condor has a main door with canvas cover and full-zip mesh window. There’s a sky light with both mesh and canvas full zip openings, and a clear plastic viewing window built into the tent cover.

All Roofnests are shipped with a sturdy and lightweight 8.5′ telescoping ladder for easy access in and out of your tent. The ladder is collapsible and permanently attached to the fold-out base.

Built-in Mattress

Every Condor tent comes with a built-in, custom-shaped 6 cm foam mattress with a waterproof cover. This isn’t your typical camping mattress. It’s so comfortable, it feels like a real bed. Say goodbye to a poor night’s sleep while camping, and say hello to getting in a good snooze with a Roofnest.

Every Condor XL comes with a single, detachable, interior LED strip light which can be powered with any USB battery.

Home Away From Home

I bought my Condor in the late summer so i could hit the road by late Aug for a month of roadtripping. Was so comfy and safe feeling to live in full time on the road that i ended up traveling the country for 2 extra months living in it a total of 3 months. Made the road trip setup and take down so easy and fast even pulling into spots late and in the dark! It was a solo trip but there was PLENTY of space for company to join in the tent if needed/wanted. Def recommended it multiple times on the road when people inquired about it and am excited for all the camping i plan to do in it come next year ❤️

Go big or fo home

I bought it for three people. Fits us nicely. I've used it twice so far. Both times, it has weathered through chilly nights to warm days along with heavy rain days and nights. On cooler nights, with us inside breathing and our body heat, the inside condensated some. Not dripping wet but definitely visible moisture droplets on the walls. Everything else about is nice. One of my window awning pole broke unexpectedly. Not sure why. During the second camping trip, I heard a load snap and looked around and found the window dangling with the pole. But, I couldn't have chosen a better tent though. I did however think there could be some improvements. Should have a thicker matress option for those that need more cushion (me). Should have some kind safety bar at the egress door that can be folded away when folding up the tent. There's nothing to grab when trying to get out of the tent. Maybe a taller cover so extra blankets amd pillows can be stored away when folded down. A window on the top cover would be nice.

A lot of compliments!

Received our Condor XL and could not be happier. Fast shipment, great customer service, and friendly helpful delivery workers. Opened it up at our apartment to check the inside and got so much compliments from our neighbors! Took it up Yosemite National and boy, people were turning necks! Strangers coming up to us asking where we bought it and specs. Using it first time this weekend at camp! So exciting!

Condor Overland Learning curve

The Condor Overland definitely needs two person install. Not that easy of a lift, so you will likely be keeping the tent on the vehicle for long periods. I have Elevate Truck Bed Rack. The Mounting screws were too short and I had to go to hardware stroe to get long enough screws to mount. Other than that, it was pretty easy install. Once on rack easy to move around. There is a learning curve with setting up the tent. I could not get the ladder right until after a multple tries, so that it did not have the bounce when getting in the tent. When ladder the floor will stay in place. I think I had too steep of an angle. Also warning, the metal rings for holding back sky roof in hot sun (live in Colorado) can damage the rain fly window, which is just plastic. This happened on my first trip. Should be warning about that. Also when closing, it is not as simple as the videos. You will need to tuck in the sides, lift both sides to tuck. Maybe this improves over time, but that has been my experience. First trip was a success, tent is warm, no leaks in a thunder storm. Very stasified, but expect a learning curve. Also, I have seen people with an issue of awning rods and being hard to get in on the side near a truck cab, you can moves these easily and works great. Have also had some issues with the velcro to hold mattress in place and ladder protective flap. This might be part of learing curve. Just first use, but I am sure I will be happier over time.

Great Tent so far ... but

My tent arrived sooner than expected, and though the box had damage, my Condor Overland didn't have even one scratch. I have only two concerns. First given the cost of this tent, the attachment brackets are tacky at best. I have ordered Wheel Every Weekend brackets to correct this. Second, the fold-out section does not lay flat. I'm told by other owners on the ROOFNEST Flock Facebook page that will correct with use over time. All that said, can't wait to hit the mountains.

Great tent

Amount needed for the investment worried me a bit, but very happy with the purchase. I have a gladiator with the condor XL and a Maximus 3 bed rack. There is some overhang, so I got some 80/20 15 series aluminum to raise it up for cab clearance. Worked like a charm.

best out there

I’ve had and seen other brand tents out there and not very many can come close to compare. Beside being a little spent I easily spent this amount on crappy tents and Replacemt parts for other tents I’ve had. Bar none ease of use set up and design awesome.

Not all tents are created equal!

I did extensive research before purchasing this brand. There are many tents out there and all claim the same. I started looking at the materials used, and it was very clear there was no comparison. This tent is what I call a tank, something that can last a long time and do it's job when it's time to protect you from the elements. The mattress is made out of real memory foam, which are not created equal as well, you can tell by waking up fresh, or back pain. Feel free to ruin your future trips by buying aftermarkets, the inevitable future embarrassment is and will be all yours, when you wake up next to your girl, in your own personal kiddie pool..

Condor XL Simply Awesome!!

Upgraded to the Condor XL and annex and we absolutely love it! Quality craftsmanship and materials used are second to none. The tent interior is massive, easy to setup and tear down. The integrated interior light with its own storage compartment is useful and ladder cover are nice touches with the tents numerous pockets make storing items a breeze. The mattress is firm and comfortable and this product is a must-have in the Alaskan environment. If you are serious about over landing and want a product that was well-though out and built right...then look no further.

So Far So Good!!

This is a great tent. The aluminum shell keeps it safe while out in the field. The material is strong and keeps the wind out. Not much else I can say, other than I really enjoy it.
