We’re always excited to don the label of being the most versatile hard shell roof top tent around.
Their team not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. Their CEO is an endurance athlete and professional outdoorsman, so we trust their opinion when it comes to outdoor gear.
They tested the Sparrow Eye this spring, and had a lot to say about their favorite tent features:
“The tent’s fiberglass-reinforced ABS shell is molded to be aerodynamic for best-in-class gas mileage and reduced road noise,” said travel writer Berne Broudy.
As far as 2-person tents go, they were impressed with the incredible ease of set-up and breakdown with the hydraulics that pop the tent open without a fuss. The side windows kept them breezy and cool while protecting them from unpredictable elements like wind, rain, and hail.
With the quilted interior, they felt comfortable all night long. Not to mention the foam mattress that they claimed “will rival the comfort of your bed at home.”
More Accolades for Our RTTs
In the hard shell roof top tent category, we’ve also been making waves with other outdoor companies.
Switchback Travel know a thing or two about pulling themselves up from the bootstraps. They review outdoor gear and adventure travel, all with an emphasis on authenticity and keeping it real out in nature.
During their review of the Condor XL, they articulated a clear distinction between us and our competitors — the fold-out design maximizes sleeping space for an extended platform and more comfort while sleeping:
“Roofnest’s take on the concept offers quality for a better price,” Switchback Staff wrote in their most recent roof top tent roundup.
Unlike other hard shell RTTs, ours is made of an aerodynamic and durable shell which creates plenty of space to fit 4 adults. That’s 47.8 square feet — just a bit bigger than a King-sized bed.
To give you the outdoor experience of a lifetime, we added LED lights, a telescoping ladder, and a super comfortable mattress, making what Switchback calls “the complete package for serious roof top campers.”
