Prep for Your Next Camping Adventure With This Easy Camping Checklist

At Roofnest, spring is synonymous with camping season (although we still do our fair share of winter camping, too). If you’re into spring cleaning, don’t forget to go through your camp gear and do a bit of spring cleaning before you head out for your first camp trip of the season. You might notice it’s time to update a few pieces of equipment, or even kick a few overused items to the curb. Maybe that sleeping bag isn’t as warm as it should be, or those hiking boots have seen one too many trails. It’s never a bad idea to invest in new camping gear, especially if what you have has seen a lot of wear and tear. The last thing you want is to be caught on a trail or backcountry hike with faulty gear — like a dead flashlight or ripped hiking boot or sleeping bag. Read through our camping preparation checklist below to figure out what still works and what you need to repair or replace before you head out on your first camping trip this spring.

Got Your Camping Checklist All Set?

Preparing for a trip can be a lot, especially if you have kids in tow. But when it comes to making sure you’ve got clean, comfortable, and functional camp gear before you get out in nature, it’s much better to be safe than sorry. When you take extra time to prepare your gear, food, and rig, you have more time to relax once you’re on site. Our favorite activity once we’ve set up camp? Busting out the campfire food for a tasty meal. Check out our ridiculously easy and delicious camping recipes >
