Each year, since 1996, Land Rover builds 100 specially outfitted vehicles for its TReK off-road competition. It then pits 300 of its North American employees (100 from the US and 10 from Canada) against one another on a specially designed track in the Northeast.

This year, the ‘Best 4x4xFar’ brand utilized its new Defender 110 as the model outfitted for competition.
Since Land Rover is widely considered the preeminent off-road brand, it stands to reason that it selects only the finest aftermarket components for the extremely limited run of TReK competition rigs. These include Orvis, Goodyear, WARN, and others. And, to our absolute delight, Land Rover chose Roofnest’s Falcon Pro as its official rooftop tent for 2022. “For the first time, TReK Defender vehicles have been outfitted with the Roofnest tent to further enhance the spirit of adventure competition for our participants.” Said Paul Cooke Director of Training at Land Rover. “Overlanding is embraced by the Defender adventure community, and integration of the roof tent into this year's Trek competition makes a great enhancement to the program.” We designed the Falcon Pro, our halo product, with vehicles like the iconic Defender 110. Like the all-new Defender, Falcon Pro is made from aluminum and includes next-generation design and high-end luxury features found little where else. More than installing the Falcon Pro, we were delighted to see Land Rover utilize Falcon Pro’s standard crossbars, which can hold up to 150 pounds, for the TReK trucks. As you can see from the images, the Roofnest crossbars hold the auxiliary solar panels mounted on each of the 100 Defender 110s. What Roofnest roof top tent will Land Rover select for next year’s TReK off-road competition? We can’t tell you yet. No doubt, though, it’ll be mounted atop one of the Best 4x4xFar.
